New Instagram TOS

We’ve all head the news that Instagram (recently purchased by Facebook) is updating their Terms of Service (TOS). instagram-logoThe new policy includes their rights to sell your pictures for use in advertisements. You get no notification or compensation for your images – just the surprise later when you see one of your pictures in an ad.

If you want to opt-out of that, you have some recourse:

  1. Delete your Instagram account now (before the policy goes into effect on January 16, 2013)

Oh and minors are not omitted from their policy either:

“If you are under the age of eighteen …. you represent that at least one of your parents or legal guardians has also agreed to this provision.”

Could we be missing a really fun opportunity here? Commercial for Instagram TOS
